Sensory Overload and Grande Finales

Mr. Wonderful (my husband ;) and I had a chance to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night with my boss and a few others for my company's Christmas celebration.

Wow- I didn't know what to expect because other than hearing some of their music on the radio station that plays all Christmas music starting on Halloween (don't get me started...) I haven't listened to them. And I had only heard their instrumental pieces before not any vocal pieces.

The best part was the lights and lasers and pyrotechnics (which we could feel the heat of on our faces) There was some cheesiness especially in the way the vocalists moved, but I really enjoyed the sensory overload. Even with the headache I have today.

Plus, it was really what I needed yesterday. There were other things that could have been better to be doing last night (specifically driving to my family- I need them), but it was nice to have a Christmas break before the rest of this week.

AND- vocally, I dug their style. They just leaned back, opened their mouths as wide as they can go and let it fly. They had about one volume leval vocally. Does this remind you of any one else we know? :) Michael told me that their style suits the way I sing. I'll take that.

AND- it was hilarious and awesome to me how everything they play sounds like it could be the big finish, the grande finale. I want to sing and play music and live like all of it is the grande finale.
